A tribute to DON-
while growing up there was a great resteraunt in the area called Don's. the place was as standard as football on Sunday. Don's was named after Don as you might imagine who was just some random guy who always seemed to be rumored to be moving to Florida.
The place was simple, kids pictures on the walls, 2-3 video games, (normally one sitting like Pole Position) as well as an amazing bakery. Only as a result of what must have been bad accounting or some unknown economic flaw was Don not the richest man in the resteraunt business. I guess there is some chance that he was and nobody knew it.
Now that I'm older i realize that Don's is missing from society, especially in northern new jersey. i can' t think of a single person who doesn't remember or crave a quick don's burger, fried clams or anything from the bakery-- so i ask... why not bring it back?
I am here to ask for suggestions for "the guy's" new resteraunt menu. Objective is to keep it simple.. meaning, kid friendly, fast and good. I shall choose the names of such standards as turkey, swiss, mustard and lettuce on rye toast to be the "Terp"... drawing the comparison to how standard U of Maryland was and is to local high school grads. We will obviously have the go to burger and fries named after the local high school mascot symbolizing the food of champions...
