More of a personal touch... A day in my life-

As the host I deem it my responsibility to send out the recap from our match--

Please read aloud in your most sincere voice for the true effect-

after a week of emails going unanswered ds was nervous as the day approached that the team of KD and MP was not to be rattled. Half way through the standard (but today it was subpar) Maplewood Salad ds took a last run by insisting on no gimmes--- some slipping by kd but a strong recovery and to the first hole-

the stakes were set-

1 I remember hearing one caddy say to the other, "damn - these guys can play"-- and then ds found liquid DRAIN-O from 17 feet to go one up-

2 was rocky on the tee for some but mp was smooth and unrattled by the build up in the fairway rolling in a 4 footer to make it square-

big hugs here to Doc the new President Cup holder- nice place on the mainly at Overlook for that piece of art

3 ds unrattled by the in-laws pured a 3 wood - 7 iron to 7 feet but mp turned the screws by scrambling and tapping in for 4 and ds 3 putted to give it away-

4 nobody took a chance here and all 4 were right... It wasn't pretty but ds scrambled to win the hole

5 holy moly- I tried to forget this hole all day-- certainly not going to write about it-

6 was when thing got exciting with son of the President Cup Champion plowing a ball to the center of the fairway and striking together a couple to go 1 up-

7 was nothing but shambles as KD won the long drive contest leaving himself a 40 yard sand wedge in --- got a bit sloppy but held it together to be all square in to #8-

8 slowed us up a bit and we had our first wait on the tee-- KD took us out pin high but well right-- mp (I went to leadbetter for a week) dribbled his first miss of the day 56 yard in the rough before rallying to stick his wedge 7 feet- ds played it up the right side and al pured one (moving it ever so gingerly in from over the trees on the 9th hole) to about 9 feet.
al puts the good guys 1 up winning the hole with a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirdie

9 found trouble on the tee for most HOWEVER, mp rallied from 8 and DA CRUSHERed one down the middle- al and ds punched out to mp's drive and kd did the same from the left side- al struggled w/ his approach and kd was left and mp was right leaving the surface open for a solo dance by the local -- and that he did-- despite 3 putting ds sealed the front 9 with a 5---

I think that was about where the wheels came off..

10 was ugly but I believe KD scrambled up a par to go 1 up early-

on 11--no hot dogs might have been the issue - after a missed drive ds sticks the rescue to 7 feet pin high- al finds H20 and KD's again monster drive did not amount to much-

12 was a good time to visit our old friend Mr Marley-- hey mp, have u lost any balls? uh, now you have!!!' kd tried to get cute here with a 7 iron in the hill and ds flew the green - really don't remember much else-

13 for some reason like 5 was a struggle from the tee box for ds and al... Wait a minute- to even compare anyone to the display al put on at the 13th is crazy- driver in to the tree-- driver (a late adjustment caused mp and I to wet ourselves) which he then hit straight no place, followed by driver... u get the point-he ended the hole on his cell phone calling the champ for pointers-

14 was another driving lesson for the handicapped and there was not much good that happened here-

15 was ds giving kd's drive on 7 a run for long drive really using all 201 lbs to put it out there- KD got a member's bounce (what's in his future) and mp lost his ground ball to short in the sun- levy rallied with his rescue and KD strung together some nice shots until we got to the green and then blindfolded one another to push the hole with 8's or something horrible-
at this point ds and al won the match being 4 and 3 (lap dances for everyone)

16 was a nice hole with nothing to report other than at one point mp was still looking for his ball while al had an 8 footer for birdie

17 could not come soon enough as al was in such a rush he rolled the ball to the very feet of the group ahead of us... after making the same joke for the 14th time ds drain-od the 5 footer --

18-- ahh yes, the very reason we always come back--
al played it same laying up--
ds and mp were doing the tango on the dance floor and KD was in the front bunker ---
I would have picked up if I had to come out of the trap in front of those people- so kudos to KD- all being equal-- mp and ds made their 3's....

truly a pleasure.. good weather- bad golf and good friends---

who can beat it-

'the guy'
